    Jow!
    Grtz

Before you start spending shitloads of money on all sorts of software I suggest you start of with FL studio ;) I can pm you version 7 but probably later next week. Plenty of tutorials on Youtube as well, though I've only ever used one so far. Up till now, I got my amateur-producer skills through imitation, through my bro and through discovering things myself ;)

-Sander van Doorn has a lot of studio sessions which you can view online. ;) If his Techy/Housey sound isn't what you are looking for, you could still imitate him, but then use different elements (e.g. piano instead of some Tech synth if you are going for uplifting) that do work for you(r) sound. ;) Sorry for the spam-load of comments btw, realzing I should have sent you a pm instead hehehe :P

Then... Try to imitate those effects and transitions. It's like growing up: first you imitate your parents, siblings, teachers, peers before you start becoming "your own person" ;) Same goes with producing: imitate to understand the basics and from there start experimenting with everything you learn. Also be sure to check out tutorials on youtube! Dunno if you are a fan of him but-

-nothing. Once you have an idea where you want to go, start listening to your faves tracks, over and over again. But listen to the small details as well as the whole. Can you grasp how the track progresses, can you hear what effects and tricks the artist uses to build tension or create harmony in his/her track? Listen VERY closely ;)
