I want to make a shout/request for the show, how do I do it?
You can make a shout out or request for ASOT by e-mailing it to Armin van Buuren himself.
The e-mail for shouts/requests is armin@astateoftrance.com
Not all shout outs/requests will be read out on the air, Armin gets a lot of e-mails every week so naturally its not doable.

QUOTE

In addition you can visit the artists website and find out any relative release date information there, if there is any.

QUOTE

The ASOT radio classic is a song (usually pre 2003-2004) which is played as the very last song on the State of Trance radio show. Most radio classics are chosen by request. Look above to find the e-mail to write to for the classic requests. Excellent work Jimo. This thread should be pinned for sure.

The only problem I see is the same problem we face with the Question/Shouts area. The thread can be pinned but people just don't read it and post away the same questions over and over again.

Regardless, great work mate

And for the new comers, might be worth having the Q&A to what Tune Of The Week and Classic are

"I missed an episode, how can I listen to ASOT again!? (Internet)"

Maybe it's fair to mention Armada's subscription service where you can listen to more than just last episode in case you've missed it, this way you're only advertising the free streams and are disregarding the people that actually pay the fee to listen and create revenue for Armada, Armin and the artists ... just a thought.

Added, I think I have the link correct,

Feel free to correct me if I don't

I have a question which you guys may be able to answer which is why do we have to go to trance.nu to vote for the 'future favourite'. Obviously wouldn't it be easier to vote on here seeing as we discuss the show on here etc. I just don't understand as when I was new to the show I remember thinking that it was odd that I had to set up an account with trance.nu just to cast my vote...

There would be thousands of people who vote that don't use this forum. And from what I remember reading (because this has been asked several times) it has to do with the support and relationship between ASOT & Trance.nu or something along those lines..

With all due respect btw towards Trance.nu and what they have done for the trance community but ASOT and Armin have become too big to keep the voting over there. It generates massive traffic that should be lead to Armin's own site and forum.

It's this type of sentiment that defines the line between professional management and amateurism. Unfortunately very well in line with the way the rest of the Armin online experience is handled.

I've noticed that a lot of newbies to this forum, post asot classic request which have already been played before since Armin began playing the classics I think they should pinned either in the request section or over here. I will leave it up to the mods to decide

Below is a list of classics which have already been played.

You might want to change this? The show started in 2001 and a lot of classics were played from 2001-2004... wink.gif Era. There have been only a few(AFAIAA- As far as I am aware)...

I actually joined the forums to talk about this. Initially I was going to ask if it would be possible to post a specific time frame during which listeners had to vote over at trance.nu, but alas I have found that that is pretty much impossible. I cannot count how many times I have visited the site in order to vote--be it right after the show, the next morning, over the weekend, and even Monday morning--only to find the message Currently no ASOT-vote active, yet somehow there is still a Future Favorite track on the next show "as voted by the listeners of A State of Trance at trance.nu."

Obviously I am not blaming the folks here, I am just voicing my (and I am sure many others') frustration at the whole process. Whether the voting is over at trance.nu is irrelevant. In fact, considering some of the above comments about how integral trance.nu is to the community, I would think it should be important for armin and trance.nu that the vote be up consistently at the same time and for the same number of days every week. However, the sad truth is that no matter how hard I have tried, I have been able to vote only twice in the last 10 weeks.

Thanks for listening. Maybe some good will come from all this.

The show is always pre-recorded unless its specifically stated that its a live broadcast. So once the FF has been chosen the poll becomes inactive because its recorded into the set. Hopefully that answered your question.

Great post, thanks so much for the ASOTsearch tool at TranceNation, glad I came across it.
May it never get down or removed, or at least have redundancy in other servers. :D
